The following are few tips for using TealPhone.
- Be sure to set the Preferences. Tap the Menu silkscreen button, tap "Options" at the top of the screen, tap "Preferences" (the 4th item down).
- The top option is how you want your Addresses sorted: Selectable allows you to change the sort order in the Main Screen using the L-Last Name, F- First Name, C- Company. Standard sorts address like the Built-in Address program (Entries with just Company names are mixed in with the list).
- This options tells TealPhone to automatically rescan the database (sort) when the database modification count has changed. This occurs after every HotSync or when an external app modifies the database. As sorting time increases exponentially with database size, itÕs only useful when the database is relatively small and there is a need because a database is constantly being externally updated, typically in a corporate environment.
- Be sure to set the Controls options.Tap the Menu silkscreen button, tap "Options" at the top of the screen, tap "Options" (the 5th item down).
- You can select when you want the Edit screen to open. If you deselect the 3 "Edit on" options, when you double tap or open an address, a full view of the contact is shown instead of the edit screen.
- As both TealPhone and the standard address book use the same database, they will always return the same search results. Turning this option off will save time when performing a global find, but selecting an address book entry from a the standard address bookÕs find results will always launch standard address book, not TealPhone.
- Using the large number display.
You can change the current displayed item by tapping on either the left or right halves of the window, to scroll backwards or forwards through the list. You can also cycle through only phone numbers, email addresses, or full name and company/physical addresses by tapping on any of the three icons at the right of the display window.
- Use the Magnifying Glass to find names. The Magnifying Glass at the bottom of the Main screen will allow to search the address with additional search options.
- The scripted F changes font. You can choose what font the address list is displayed in, standard, bold, large, or large bold.
- The Down Arrow determines how the scroll buttons works. If the down arrow is black and the box is white, then pressing the scoll hardware buttons will select the next(previous) entry. If the down arrow is white and the box around it is black, theen pressing the scroll hardware buttons will scroll page by page.
