Quick Reference

The following is just about everything you need to know to operate MyBible:

  • To go to a different book first tap the current book in the upper right corner of the screen and select a book from the list that is shown.

  • To go to a chapter in the current book write the chapter number in the Graffiti area.

  • To go to a verse in the current book write a period (double tap) and the verse number in the Graffiti area. You can also use a colon, comma or "return" before a verse.

  • Switch translations by tapping the translation abbreviation and choosing from the list of installed Bibles

  • To navigate within books use the up/down buttons to move a page at a time or the following strokes in the Graffiti area:
    • Left to right to go to next chapter
    • Right to left to go to previous chapter
    • Down to go to the next verse
    • Up to go to the previous verse
    • Right then left to go to the next found verse
    • Left then right to go to the previous found verse
    • Tap in the upper half of the screen to scroll a page upwards, or in the bottom half to scroll down.

  • To Find a word or phrase write an F in the Graffiti area

  • To show translator's footnotes (in Bibles that contain them) for the current verses visible on the screen, write an N in the Graffiti area.

  • To show the Preferences screen write an R in the Graffiti area.

  • Bookmarks: Tap the bookmark icon in the top center of the screen then...
    • Select Set Bookmark to set a bookmark on the current verse
    • Select Delete Bookmark to delete a bookmark on the current verse. (So to delete a bookmark first tap the bookmark icon, select the verse for the bookmark you want to delete, the tap the bookmark icon again and select Delete Bookmark.)
    • Select a verse from the bookmark list to go to a bookmarked verse

  • To display the program menu tap the Menu icon (below the Home icon to the left of the Graffiti area)
